DJI Enterprise retroactive Certification

Table of Contents

DJI has recently acquired class marking for its drones from the Mavic 3 Enterprise and Matrice 30 series. In this guide, we’ll explain the process of how to request it, in case you purchased them before being certified.

Understanding European Regulations:

According to European regulations outlined in regulation 2019/945, all manufacturers are required to certify their drones in classes ranging from C0 to C6, based on weight and characteristics, to market them within the European territory starting from 2024.

DJI's Initiative:

In its commitment to offer drones that comply with current and future regulations, DJI provides the opportunity to obtain class marking retroactively for certain drones:

  • Mavic 3 Enterprise
  • Mavic 3 Thermal
  • Mavic 3 Multispectral
  • Matrice 30
  • Matrice 30T

If you bought any of these drones before being certified, there is a way to conduct the retroactive certification process.

Procedure:

Step 1: Firmware Update

Ensure the drone’s firmware is updated to version 7.1 to prepare for the Remote Identification system as mandated by the regulation.

Step 2: Requesting Class Marking via DJI Pilot App

Once the firmware is updated, a prompt will guide you to the C2 marking request form within the DJI Pilot app. Simply click “Apply.”

Alternatively, if unable to request the marking at that moment, it can be done later in the Support and Services section of the DJI Pilot 2 app.

Step 3: Fill Out Form for Label Delivery

Complete a brief form with your details and click “Send.” The C2 label will be sent to your address shortly (labels are sent without tracking numbers, delivery times may vary due to local factors).

Step 4: Affix Labels and Change Propellers

Upon receiving the labels, follow the instructions to affix them to the drone. Additionally, the regulations require the use of low-noise propellers to ensure compliance with the C2 label.

Low-noise propellers are sold separately. For the Matrice 30, they can be purchased here. DJI is currently testing new low-noise propellers for the Mavic 3 Enterprise series, and they will be available for purchase upon completion of testing.

Drone Model | Low-Noise Propeller Model Mavic 3

Enterprise | 8658F

Matrice 30 | R1676

Step 5: Submit Compliance Proof

After affixing labels and changing propellers, submit a photo of the drone to demonstrate compliance with the requirements for the C2 class label.

Step 6: Download C2 Class Certificate

The final document will be available in the DJI Pilot 2 app within 3 working days.
