PDRA application checklist: everything before you submit

Missing one document can delay a PDRA application by weeks. Authorities check the same things every time: your registration, your crew, your operations manual, your drone and the file itself. Tick every item before you submit.

100+ PDRAs approved · All PDRA types · Approvals in more than half of EASA countries

Before you submit

The five areas the authority checks

Incomplete applications are the most common cause of delay.

1. Operator

UAS operator registration active, operator number confirmed, and third-party liability insurance that covers the planned operation.

2. Remote pilots

Competency as required by the PDRA, with certificate numbers and expiry dates recorded. Training from an Official Designated Training Entity where required.

3. Operations manual

References the specific PDRA, defines the operational area, includes emergency procedures such as lost link and fly-away, and uses site-specific mitigations.

4. Drone

Make, model, serial number, MTOM and dimensions, Remote ID, registration and a current maintenance log.

5. Submission

The right national portal, documents in PDF with clear names, the form in the local language where required, and copies kept for your records.

After you submit

Note the expected confirmation and a follow-up date. Answer any findings quickly and completely.

Do not copy the PDRA text

Mitigations must describe your site, your crew and your procedures. A manual that repeats the PDRA conditions word for word will be returned.
