Drone Events Calendar: Upcoming UAS Expos and Conferences

The largest recurring drone events in Europe are XPONENTIAL Europe in Düsseldorf (March), INTERGEO in Germany (October, geospatial and drones), Airspace World in Lisbon (May, air traffic management and U-space) and the International Drone Show in Odense (June). XPONENTIAL Europe 2027 takes place from 16 to 18 March 2027 at Messe Düsseldorf, Germany. The European Drone Forum runs the day before, on 15 March 2027, at the same venue.

Usually, yes. Flying over assemblies of people is not allowed in the Open category, so demo flights at shows typically need an operational authorisation in the Specific category from the aviation authority of the host country, plus the organiser’s permission. Showing a prototype is fine. To place a drone on the EU market for use in the Open category, it must carry a C0 to C6 class label, and for most classes a Notified Body must be involved in the conformity assessment. Read how class certification works.
