Before you sell

What must be in place

Class certification is the core, but it is not the only requirement.

Class label and CE marking

The drone carries its class identification label and CE marking, backed by a Notified Body certificate where the class requires one.

EU declaration of conformity

The manufacturer declares that the drone meets all applicable EU rules, listing the regulations and standards applied.

Technical documentation

Kept up to date and available to market surveillance authorities for years after the last unit is sold.

Other EU product rules

Radio equipment, electrical safety, chemicals and battery rules can apply alongside the drone regulation.

User information

A manual in the language of each market and the EASA consumer information for the class.

Economic operators

Manufacturers outside the EU need an importer or authorised representative in the EU with clear responsibilities.

Market surveillance is active

Authorities can check drones on sale and withdraw non-compliant products. A complete file and correct labelling protect your launch.
